Get a self estimate

Thank you for enquiring about an estimate for your Royal Grass – artificial turf needs.

Before you request a member of our fitting team to visit and give you a fully in depth quotation on your requirements, it is possible to do yourself an aprox estimate using the following tips. It will give you a idea of the costs of whichever product you are enquiring about, you can see whether it is within your budget.



We have a policy at easyPlants & Lawns that, if you require a full in depth quotation of your requirements a charge of £100.00 is payable, this is fully refundable on the placing of your order, Obviously this fee will not be required if you are ordering Royal grass basic as the lawn is usually fitted by yourselves, just tell us the area of grass you require and we will despatch it to you by carrier, please ask for the carriage costs.

OK, get yourself a long tape measure and lets get measuring.

Measuring is straight forward, Please measure the area you are going to lawn into square metres. Whether the area is shaped or round please keep it as square metres for estimating purposes.



Once you have done this, break the area down in to 4 and 2 metre widths please see diagram, as this is the widths of the rolls, The length will not be an issue as all rolls are 25 metres long and can be cut as required. For estimating purpose please work out the best way of utilising the rolls widths.

You can only join rolls in one direction so you may have off cuts, please bear this in mind when working out the area to be done. (The best and most efficient way of laying our artificial turf is by making sure the area to be laid is worked out in Even Numbers)



On Illustration the square meterage of the turf required is 27 sq. metres. Please multiply the sq.m by the cost of the turf you require.

Now you have an estimate of the the amount of artificial turf required please add the following costs



Joining the Grass

Chemicals and Joining tape will be needed if you are using more than one roll of turf.

For this purpose please work out the amount per sq metre needed, please see diagram as this will make it very clear. Once you have the quantity required, please add it to the estimating tool at the top of the page.


On the Illustration the square meterage of tape and glue required is 4.5 sq. metres.

Preparation and Fitting

Finally you can work out a rough estimate of the costs for us to prepare your garden ready for the turf to be laid and for the fitting of the turf, we have again done this as a per square metre charge for ease of getting a self estimate.

On Illustration the square meterage for the groundwork and fitting is 22.5 sq. metres.

When you have worked out your sq.meterage please add it to the estimating tool top of the page.


Now you can get an estimate applicable to you, you can assess whether it fits within your budget, If you are still interested in having royal grass fitted please arrange for either a fitter to visit your site ( £100 cost is applicable for the visit which is fully refundable when you confirm the order) or simply order the royal Grass basic over the telephone letting us know the Required rolls needed ( 4 metre wide or 2 metres wide) and the length on each roll, we will advise on the chemicals and tape you will need, for ease of fitting we will supply a guide with clear instructions.
